It’s strange how we naturally surround ourselves with people much like ourselves. For instance, most of my friends are talented musicians… I just happen to be a musician myself. It’s strange how we as humans socialize in categorized groups. I have friends for each group of interests I have.
I have a few friends that love World of Warcraft.. I to love WoW. So if I’m looking to do an instance or lvl an alt, I can dial up a WoW friend and we can talk about WoW all fucking day. But, if I started talking about music then they’d quickly become lost or uninterested. Same goes for my musician friends… If I’m having a few beers with my musically inclined friends and start talking about WoW, then I become the butt end of nerd jokes. I’m also a businessman, so I have friends that I associate with and we talk about money and future ventures.
Our social behavior can only be explained as phenomenal when you really dive into the subject. I guess that’s what constitutes a “Best Friend”… If I had a buddy that played music, wow, and had a keen business since.. I guess that person would be considered my best friend by default. So what is a best friend, really? It’s NOT someone that would stick up for you in a confrontation, or a person that you see on a daily basis… Who are those people?
Personally, I believe that those people are doing those charitable actions for reasons unknown. Think about it…. If a “friend” stepped into confrontation between myself and another person… maybe he’s doing it because he likes to fight… not because he’s a best friend. Or, if you see a person on a daily basis… maybe that person lacks a type of confidence that he\or she can only realize when they are with you.. (Chicks do this A LOT!!!!) You always see fat \ unattractive girls hanging out with hotties…. Why is that? The hottie loves being around unattractive chicks because it makes them feel better about themselves. The hottie knows that there is not competition coming from the fattie. The fattie likes hanging out with the hottie because they are in a situation where someone might notice them. It’s a fair trade masked by a form of barter system. I’m not pointing the finger or fronting anyone out…. I’m just saying that hotties usually have a lower self-esteem than a fattie. And the fatties are just looking for a little play. Strange….
